You are right, Shabaku. Kishimoto has surprised me many times now, including that the Uchiha clan which Sasuke tried so hard to revive were actually a horrible clan that killed off each other to be the strongest.

Ok, here’s something to think about.

The name “Tobi” in the first place. IF Tobi is really Obito, then look at the name. If you start the name Tobi at the ‘O’ and work your way BACK to the ‘O’, then you get OBITO.

Tobi = Obi-to = Tobi

Personally,I think that Tobi is Obito. The pattern on Tobi’s mask is designed to make whomever is foolish enough to look at his face’s view go directly into his right eye. And since he gave his left eye to Kakashi it was pretty much the best, and only way to make up for the loss. The name similarity is just way to close, They both like the color orange, are both fast on their feet, both loud and annoying, and even have the same haircut. There are just way to many similarities to not think it is Obito. But you never know, I guess it is whatever the creators of the show want it to be. For all we know it could be anyone =P.

obito’s entire right side was crushed under the rock so how could that be obito?

Theres a possibilty that Uchiha madara is Obito, who is now calling himself tobi in memory of obito.. One can ask how did Uchiha madara managed to live this long? perhaps Obito had something to do with it, yes?
And also Jiraiya being Kakashi’s father is also a very strong possiblity, we all know that Kakashi was known as white fang but the circumstances of he’s death is somewhat questionable.

If you read chapter 395 you will know that tobi is madara. And who said he died? Madara is not the master of sai at all. And then why does tobi knows so much about madara?

Umm…Well, the best chance is that he is infact OBITO but, I think he’s just TOBI. Plus, he’s totally hot under his mask. Hehe.

1) nobody ever said Sai was Tobi, they only said that both Tobis and Sai’s Master’s left eye is gone/damaged, so they both cover it up.
2) Kakashi is the son of the White Fang, thats for sure. NOT Jirayas. (omg u idiots “there is a strong possiblity…” u gotta be kidding me” HE IS THE WHITE FANGS SON!)
3) I was sure that Tobi was Obito, until he himself said that he was Madara…Hair? Lolz, hair grows and u can also cut it. Everyone in Uchiha Clan has dark/black hair so leave their hair alone.
4) Who knows, maybe Madara also lost his left eye? Maybe Tobi went crazy, cuz he was jealous that Madara had it all (the clan etc), killed him and thought he was Madara? There are plenty of possibilities…

I think that Obito is tobi………….because i mean…..they are spelt very similar, they have the same hairstyle, the like orange, and he only has one sharingan left………….i think that when kakashi and his team left Obito under that rock, madaras weak body was wandering and saw obito there and probably did a transfer jutsu…. and only his body was used…not his mind…………..

I’m pretty sure that Madara is both Tobi and Obito.
I mean, Madara was a “prodigy” and he could’ve used a jutsu to live for over 200 years. Then making different identities(Starting as Madara, becoming Obito, then using Obito as Tobi later on).
And well… They all have the Sharingan so…

hi there. i was just browsing pictures and saw this forum. i have a different opinion i want to share with. i think tobi is uchiha madara. –but– the reason of his right eye thing is of a different story. remember what itachi said? using sharingan has a cost. user becomes blind in the end becuause of too much use.. i think madara got blind aaaaand plucked out obito’s right eye. thats why tobi got only right eye usable.. ofcourse thats only my thought u may not agree thanks..

ok look at the picture…the picture of madara and the picture of tobi…on tobi’s mask the eye hole is on the opposite side than the picture of madara..so it cant be madara…its going to be obito…and like others have said obito is very very similar to tobi…drop the second o and swith the i with the second o and u have tobi..but everything is circumstantial at the moment but i can almost gaurantee that it will be obito..and obito got mad because his team members gave up on him instead of doing everything possible to save him., thus that is why he is in akatsuki and didnt simply return to konoha

also alexander said that its a strong possibility about the Jiraiya being kakshi’s dad and that they both like the icha icha series….you are forgetting that jiraiya is the AUTHOR of the icha icha series…not a fan..just thought i would point that out…but no kakshi is not jiraiya’s son…usually summons are passed down generations and kakashi has the dogs (thus white fang) and jiraiya has the frogs
